Bio

Anuj Bhatia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Site Director of Pain Services at Toronto Western Hospital (TWH). He is the Chair of the Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group of the Canadian Pain Society, Secretary and Treasurer of the Canadian Neuromodulation Society, Vice-Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's Pain Medicine Specialty committee, and Co-Chair of the North American Neuromodulation Society's Research Committee. He has a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology. His clinical and research interests include the use of epidemiological tools and wearable technology for assessing outcomes of neuromodulation and other interventional treatments for chronic neuropathic, musculoskeletal, and cancer pain, and neuromodulation. He has published over 80 papers, 6 book chapters, and co-authored two books on interventional pain procedures. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of Anesthesia & Analgesia, Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the European Journal of Pain, and Pain Medicine. He is also the organizer of the annual North American Interventional Pain workshop at the University of Toronto for Fellows and Residents since 2010 and the annual Canadian Pain Medicine refresher course since 2017. He was a member of the international guideline development panel for the use of intravenous ketamine infusions, cervical and lumbar facet interventions for relieving pain.
