Bio
I am a staff anesthesiologist at Toronto General Hospital- UHN and Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. I was born and raised in the small rural community of Kennetcook, Nova Scotia. Upon completing high school, I earned my BSc (Hons) in Biology at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, in 1999 and a medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 2003. These were followed by a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Ottawa in 2008, and a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina in 2009. I earned a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University in 2012 and a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Cincinnati in 2017. Before arriving to Toronto, I spent 9 years as staff anesthesiologist and intensivist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Over the last several years, I have been heavily involved in residency education and I am currently the anesthesia resident site coordinator at TGH.
