Bio

Dr. Baig completed his undergraduate and graduate degree in Immunology prior to starting medical school at Queen`s University. He then completed his training in Anesthesiology at the University of Toronto in 2016. Subsequently he completed training in Pain Medicine in 2018 as part of the inaugural class at the University of Toronto followed by a fellowship in interventional cancer pain management fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City partly funded by the Detweiler Traveling Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is currently the director of the UHN Cancer Pain Clinic which is involved in treating cancer and palliative pain using both medical and interventional treatment modalities. His academic interest involves curriculum development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels with a particular interest in the education of pain medicine trainees. He is involved in the administrative aspects of pain medicine education and has recently been appointed as the Ontario representative on the specialty committee in Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Canada.
